Aspheric lenses are used to eliminate spherical aberration in a variety of applications, including barcode scanning, laser diode collimation, or OEM or R&D integration. The aspherical lens is designed with a single component that helps minimize the number of lenses in multi-lens optics. Another way of saying this is that unlike a conventional lens with a spherical outer surface, the aspheric lens uses a more complex outer surface and gradually changes in curvature from the center of the lens toward the outside of the lens edge.
